Terms & Conditions

General

1. This quote is valid for the next 30 days, after which values may be subject to change.

2. All work undertaken will be discussed and agreed prior to the start date.
3. All work will be completed by AJS Lawn Care unless otherwise agreed.
4. The price quoted for work includes all labour and materials.
5. Any addition and/or alterations to the quote/contract will be treated as a variation to the original terms and will be subject to written instructions. Additional payment may be required to cover the agreed changes.
6. The Customer will provide unrestricted access to the site(s) during AJS Lawn Care’s normal working hours of Monday to Friday 8:00 am – 6:00 pm.
7. AJS Lawn Care is not able to accept responsibility for any damage to or cost involved with any underground hazards, obstructions or services not made known in writing on a site plan.
8. Severe weather conditions, including drought, may cause the delay of visits but this will not affect the original, agreed price.

grass cutting/clearance

1. If access to the site is prevented on the date of a scheduled visit or if less than 3 days’ notice is given AJS Lawn Care reserves the right to charge for the visit in full.

2. Prior to AJS Lawn Care’s arrival, it is the Customer’s responsibility to remove any obstacles from the area to be cut. AJS Lawn Care reserve the right to cut around any obstacles left on the lawn.
3. If AJS Lawn Care are requested to remove any obstacles from the area to be cut not covered in the quote/contract then there will be an additional charge of £15 to remove the obstacle(s).
4. Should it not be possible to remove the obstacles or the time take to do so is deemed too long then the grass cutting service will not take place but there will be charged a minimum of £15 per visit to cover our costs.
5. Items left on the lawn are at the Customer’s risk. Whilst AJS Lawn Care will be watchful for any items left on the lawn, we cannot take responsibility or cover the cost for any damage to such items.
6. The removal of animal (pet) excrement or litter from the site is the responsibility of the Customer. There is a minimum charge of £15 for AJS Lawn Care to remove any Pet excrement left on site.
7. If there is excessive pet excrement on the lawn, we may not be able to carry out the work. If we are unable to carry out the work, there will be a minimum charge of £15 to cover our costs.
8. AJS Lawn Care adhere to the 1/3rd rule when cutting grass which is industry standard. This is to say that only 1/3rd of the total length should be removed from the grass plant at any one time. If the Customer requires more than 1/3rd to be removed then this will be classed as Clearance work rather than a Grass Cut and will be charged accordingly.
9. AJS Lawn Care will cut the agreed area to industry practice levels for its intended use.
10. The Customer is responsible for ensuring stones aren’t in or on the lawn. AJS Lawn Care cannot be held responsible for damage caused by small stones and other items left in or on the Customer’s lawn.
11. AJS Lawn Care accept no responsibility for accidental breakages arising from their work. Any reparation payment or works that may be made is solely at the discretion of AJS Lawn Care and admits no fault or liability
12. Green waste created from the work undertaken in this quote/contract will be placed in the Customer’s Green Waste Disposal bin or placed on the Customer’s Compost heap.
13. Removal of Green Waste is a chargeable EXTRA unless stated in the quote/contract.
14. AJS Lawn Care is not responsible for grass clumping due to damp weather conditions where grass cuttings) are to remain on the lawn.

 

Hedge trimming/hedge reduction

1. Hedge Trimming is defined as removal of the last 6 months’ growth. Hedge Reduction work will be quoted separately.

2. AJS Lawn Care carry out hedge trimming where possible, outside the bird nesting season which is March-July inclusive. If we find an occupied birds’ nest the work will cease and the Customer will be informed. Work will re-commence as soon as possible after the area becomes unoccupied.
3. Green Waste from the Hedge Trimming may be shredded on the Customer’s site to reduce the amount of waste. The Customer can specify if they would like to keep the chippings. Alternatively, AJS Lawn Care will quote separately for the removal of the Green Waste from Hedge Trimmings.

Lawn treatments

1. AJS Lawn Care will only carry out the application of treatments during appropriate weather conditions.

2. Pesticides – AJS Lawn Care will ensure that pesticide application is carried out when weather conditions are suitable.

payment

1. Grass Cutting – Payment is due immediately on completion of the scheduled visit.

2. The Customer is responsible for all payments to AJS Lawn Care.
3. Payment methods are Cash or Bank Transfer.
4. If you do not pay in full, we may charge interest to you on the overdue amount at the rate of 5% a year above the base lending rate of the Bank of England’s from time to time. The interest shall accrue on a daily basis from the due date until the date of actual payment of the overdue amount, whether before or after judgment. An admin fee may be applicable. You must pay the interest together with the overdue amount.

Social Media

1. From time to time, AJS Lawn Care likes to take photos of their work at your property for the purpose of showing them on Social Media. If you do not wish us to use images of your garden/property then please let us know at the time of accepting out quote/contract.

2. If permission is granted, AJS Lawn Care may use images of your garden/property resulting from photography/video filming on their Social Media Platforms such as (but not limited to) our Facebook Business Page, YouTube and Google My Business.
3. Without express permission, we will not identify you as being the property owner, nor disclose your address or any personal details.
4. Photos/Images will be held by AJS Lawn Care in accordance and compliance with GDPR guidelines.
5. We will never sell or give these images to any other party.
6. You can opt-out at any time. Just let us know.

Cancellation

Domestic Customers
Should you wish to cancel our services, you can do so in writing by letter sent by post or e-mail. The Contract may be terminated at any time by either party giving two weeks prior notice.
Commercial/Monthly Customers
The Contract may be terminated at any time by either party giving one calendar month’s prior notice in writing to the other party. Where a full contract is agreed and signed between the parties the conditions of the contract shall supersede this clause
